Our evaluation

After our lesson on Tuesday me and Paige stayed to finish our evaluation. We only needed to finish putting in some images of our production which relate to what we are talking about. We managed to find as many relevent pictures, such as pictures of Maya putting on lipstick when we talk about changing the normal conventions of a music video. However, we have had to leave some spaces as we didnt have appropriate pictures for what we was talking about at times.

Magazine advert final

For the final draft of our magazine advert we decided to change the font of our band name to match the one on the digipack, we also added our website so our fans can find out more about the band and our 'cupcake productions' logo to make the advert look more authentic.

Digi-pack final

For the final of our digipack we decided to keep to the colour theme of pink, black and grey, as we thought it looked professional but still girly. The first four is the for the front of the digipack and then the rest of the booklet introducing fans to the band members individually. Then the last is for the back of the digipack where it gives the name of our songs, our website, our 'cupcake production' logo and barcode to make it look more authentic. I am really happy with how the digipack looks as it looks professional and I really like the front image of us sat on the line.

Week beginning 16th Apr

Now we have returned after easter we need to complete our evaluation as quick as possible! Yesterday during our lesson we finally managed to upload our footage onto the computer by using a different camera. We then begun editing it and putting in images that relate to what we are saying from our production.

We didnt quite manage to finish it but we plan to stay after the lesson to complete it on Thursday.

Week beginning 26th March

For the last part of our coursework we have to evaluate our production and produce it in a creative way. Mrs showed us examples of how this can be done in class and for ours we decided to make it into a short video with text, our voice overs and showing relevant parts of our production.

The evaluation questions we had to answer were:
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

We first wrote down the answers to these questions which we all discussed and then we each filmed each other answering the questions. We then tried to upload our footage onto the computer but it wasnt working on any of the computers! Because we were doing this out of lesson we couldnt find mrs to help us so we had to email her letting her know that we would have to finish our evaluation project after easter, annoying!

Evaluation questions

For one of our evaluation questions we had to ask our target audience some questions about our production to find out there feedback. We all had to ask 3 people each some questions, the questions I asked were:Do you think the theme and idea of the video is clear?
Do you think the production, digipack and magazine advert would appeal to our target audience of teenage to adult females? Why?
If not, what could we do to make it more appealing?

For the first question the responses were:
'Yes, I think it says how beauty is on the inside'
'Yes, I think it is about a girl wanting to grow up too quickly'
'Yes, it is about beauty and image'

For the second question the responses were:
'Yes, because you look nice and have outfit changes which could interest young girls'
'Yes, because it focuses on an idea that affects young girls and could make them feel better'
'Yes, because it is about beauty and image'

For the third question there were no responses because everyone said yes to the one before.
